Very pretty. Where is the image from? I love this blog challenges. I should figure out where to do one.

The potholes in my driveway were filled with water, and I was fortunate to notice the ice that morning because the next day the water was gone. There were wonderful designs on all the puddles. Most of the puddles were about 18″ diameter.
Obviously I colored this, but I had to in order to show the definition. Otherwise it was just tones of gray. Boring.

  3. What a lovely picture Marilyn! I remember reading a blog showing her mother taking a frozen puddle from the Acropolis in Greece. Frozen puddle never looked so interesting before! 🙂

Thanks, I’m glad you liked it. It is a gentle reminder to notice the details. Most days there are just potholes, but conditions were just right…the snow had melted to fill the holes, but the ground was still frozen so it didn’t drain. Temperatures dropped below freezing, turning a lowly puddle into a thing of beauty.

A similar thing happened later in the day. I was walking in the forest and saw some beautiful bright green lichen that looked like layers of leaf lettuce growing on tree trunks. I had never seen this kind of lichen before. I returned to the same spot the next day and it had all turned a nondescript grayish brown. What a difference a day makes.

  5. Great shot. I find potholes very interesting in our world, because they remind us from the bygone world. If You do not mind, then I show our potholes:

    Giant’s potholes.

    Happy Saturday!
