Murals of Zaachila
In honor of the Day of the Dead (November 2), art students have displayed their talents on walls and doors in the town of Zaachila, Oaxaca, Mexico. While recently hiking through the town, we were treated to this wonderful artwork!

Some may carry a message or tell a story…
Others are just fun to look at…
But all of them will make you think.
These move me to want to know more about the significance of this holiday and the beliefs behind these depictions.
In Zaachila there are other streets that also have murals. I have not seen these, and when you are here we can go look for them if you want. Thursday is their big market day, so we could make a field trip of it! It’s easy to get there in a colectivo.
Sounds like a worthwhile way to spend a day.
I have to say after seeing them, that they are “different” art.
Happy New Year!
These are neat! Really like them 🙂
Thanks, I’m glad you like them. Truly talented artists seem to abound here!
Wow these are absolutely amazing Marilyn! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
